Two Pennsylvania gamblers file a $250k lawsuit against SugarHouse Casino

Earlier in the week, citing sources closely following the matter, several reports stated that the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia is being sued by two Pennsylvania gamblers for $250,000, alleging the gaming venue used card shufflers that were not functioning properly and also the decks used had either way too many or very fewer cards.

As per reports, Anthony Mattia of Philadelphia filed a complaint filed on Wednesday, May 22nd in US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania claiming that he lost $147,000 at SugarHouse from May 2017 through to Jan 1, 2018.

And in another complain, the Rush Street Gaming owned casino is being sued by William Vespe of Cherry Hill for $103,000 for losses incurred during that same period.

As per reports, both individuals have filed a complaint claiming that the venue did not provide fair play in mini-baccarat, blackjack, and poker games. Both men, also additionally, claimed that they had to face significant damage due to the reported absence of fairness.

According to sources close to the matter, other claims in the complaint include Mattia and Vespe accusing SugarHouse and Rush Street Gaming of unjust enrichment, negligence, and breach of contract. Both men are also seeking compensation for attorneys and the cost of suit fees along with unspecified damages.

Both Vespe, as well as Mattia, gave been described as “frequent wagering” customers at SugarHouse in the complaint filed.
