In a multi-year announcement, earlier in the week, FanDuel, a sportsbook operator was announced as the official gaming partner of the professional baseball league of USA, Major League Baseball. However, a specific duration or financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed by either party.
Through this deal, the official MLB logo and data can be used by FanDuel in its online and retail sportsbook.
This deal marks the first occasion wherein both FanDuel and the MLB have announced a partnership. Previously, DraftKings and MGM Resorts International have been the official gaming partner of the professional baseball league of USA.
However, this is not the first time where FanDuel has formed a partnership with a gaming league, as the unit of Flutter Entertainment has previously also been associated with the National Hockey League and its New Jersey Devils Team and the National Basketball Association and its Brooklyn Nets Team.
Notably, ever since the US Supreme Court gave a ruling in favor of legalizing regulated sports betting it has increased the number of partnerships being formed between sportsbook operators and national US leagues.
